THE STORY

Behind the work.

Pauline Greuell is a Dutch artist and teacher whose hand-stenciled botanical work carries the evidence of its making: layered color, the softness of the brush and the small variations that give each composition life. Her practice has influenced a wide creative community while remaining grounded in careful observation and the pleasure of working by hand.

For Sister & Sewn, Pauline’s work is being translated digitally for the first time. Hydrangea, Windswept Iris, Dancing Daffodil, Sycamore and Cirsium preserve the character of her original stencils while opening a new chapter in U.S.-printed textiles for the American design trade.
